Sewing Bee

We've had an explosion of interest in sewing patchwork, creating cushions for cats, Saxon knitting and handiwork of all sorts. The work of the hand is an important concept within a Montessori setting and it's amazing the level of quiet concentration and focus employed in these activities. It's also a lovely time to read out loud a story to the group. You think that the story teller is reading to herself until it comes time to close the book for the session to big cries of 'Ohh - just one more page!'
